Iceland has a milder climate than Greenland and that is one of the reassons for Tasermiut South Greenland Expeditions to explore an alternative for winter as per the weather conditions in Greenland it is not possible for us to run the trips in South Greenland.

We’re big fans of Iceland and in reality we think that our two countries really complement each other well so that we have decided to increase our nice portfolio including two incredible trips in Iceland and one in Greenland during the winter time.

Iceland was settled by Norse Vikings in the 9th century, while Greenland was also colonized by Norsemen from Iceland around the same time between them!

Greenland is ice. Iceland is Green. This line is a classic saying . Greenland is definitely icy, since 79% of the island is covered by the magnificent Greenland Ice sheet. It is, by the way, the second largest body of ice in the world after Antarctica.

There are few places in the world that can compete with Iceland and Greenland when it comes to Northern Lights. The invisible aurora belt drapes itself over both countries, and when solar particles enter the earth’s atmosphere, the explosion of colour appears in the night sky. Inuit stories also say that it’s their ancestors who are playing football in the night sky with a walrus’ skull.

Both countries attract travellers due to their unique natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
